Review: Arnold Schwarzenegger's 'Last Stand' a pointless modern western

Schwarzenegger is back, and his timing couldn’t be any worse. At a time when violence in movies is being scrutinized, Arnold arrives with a no-holds-barred shoot-em-up in “The Last Stand.”

Fast cars, cheeky one-liners and very, very big guns showcase this mild, pointless modern western. “The Last Stand” is a dumbed-down, mutated, contemporary version of the western classic “High Noon.” Though it’s not a remake by any stretch of the definition, the similarities are obvious. Schwarzenegger is the friendly, but exhausted Sherriff Ray Owens of the sleepy Arizona border town Sommerton Junction. The most action the town gets is from the rival football team, but when Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega), the leader of an international drug cartel escapes an FBI transport and makes his way to the Mexico border via a supped-up Corvette ZR1, and by way of Arnold’s little hamlet, the town of Sommerton (with a population of 10, it seems) gets an unexpected war.

A judge who has sentenced Lindsay Lohan to jail before will conduct her first hearing Wednesday on new misdemeanor charges of lying to authorities and reckless driving against the trouble-prone actress.

Lohan has been ordered to appear before Judge Stephanie Sautner for the scheduling hearing, which is the first time the actress has been required to appear in court in nearly a year.

Prosecutors in Santa Monica, Calif., have charged Lohan with lying to police about driving a sports car that crashed into a dump truck in June, reckless driving and obstructing officers from performing their duties.

In March, Sautner released her from supervised probation but warned her to stop partying and grow up.

"You need to live your life in a more mature way, stop the nightclubbing and focus on your work," Sautner told Lohan at the time. The admonition came after the judge conducted several monthly updates with the actress and required her to perform morgue cleanup duty to complete her sentence in a 2007 drunken driving case.

Lohan has since filmed two movies but has repeatedly gotten into trouble, including a pair of arrests in New York that have not resulted in charges.

She was on probation for theft at the time of the wreck in California, and Sautner had warned the actress she could be sentenced to 245 days in jail if she didn't behave. She has pleaded not guilty and a Feb. 27 trial date has been set.

The latest hearing may also resolve who will be Lohan's lawyer for the criminal case. New York attorney Mark Heller has petitioned to join the case, but his involvement must be approved by Sautner. Heller was traveling on Tuesday and did not return a phone message.

The singer referred to him as her “hubby” in the chat with Cosmo, gushing about his good looks. “I'll literally look at him and be like ‘You are hot, dear god!’

The other day, I turned on the pool heater and it was steaming, and he walked outside and took off his clothes and jumped in the pool. I was like, ‘I'm gonna faint--the hottest guy of my life is in a steaming pool. This looks like a Playgirl shoot.’ So I took a photo and made it the background on my phone. My best friend grabbed my phone and was like, ‘Who's that? He is so hot!’ That's my hubby!”

It’s all about brotherly bonding for the Hemsworth brothers.

Liam and Chris Hemsworth took a break from their busy schedules and escaped to Costa Rica last week, where they hit the waves and, not to mention, flaunted their sexy and fit physiques.

The actors were also joined by their father Craig and older brother Luke, whom also caught a couple waves during their sunny beach outing. Donning a wet suit, Chris took off on his surf board first, riding a couple of intense waves.

Meanwhile, Liam and the rest of the Hemsworth men trekked the beach before making their way into the ocean. Before their surfing session, Liam cuddled close with Miley Cyrus, who along with Chris’s wife Elsa Pataky, caught some rays during the family getaway.

After their packing on the PDA, Liam and Miley jetted for a cooler climate, taking in the sights and sounds of Ottawa, Canada. The acting brothers’ vacation comes just in time before they get back to their grueling work lineup.

Liam is currently filming his upcoming film Paranoia, while prepping for the November release of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. As for Chris, he recently wrapped up production on the sequel to his 2011 blockbuster, Thor: The Dark World.

Yeah girls just wanna have fun! It's a girls' day out for besties Vannessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale at the tattoo parlor!

In between Fashion Week shows, High School Musical besties Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale hit NYC's East Side Ink late last week -- where artist "Bang Bang," who's created body art for Rihanna, gave the girls fresh ink. Vanessa and Ashley both got thoughtful, spiritual tattoos during the outing. Ashley opted for the words "jamais seule" (French for "never alone") on her right foot; while Vanessa stamped the "Om" symbol on the backs of both her hands.

Hudgens already has a butterfly tattoo imprinted on her neck. Tisdale's wrist already reads "fearless," and her back tattoo says "believe." They got inked!

The actress and model known for her 42 in.-long legs is also a retired professional wrestler and unabashed tomboy. She put her girly side on display during the second season of Dancing with the Stars when she sashayed her way into the finals with Tony Dovolani and was the odds makers' favorite to win.

1. She's fearless.

Keibler bungee-jumped off the highest commercial bungee bridge in the world, the Bloukrans Bungy in South Africa. "I bungee jumped off the Guinness Book of World Records bungee jump," Keibler told PEOPLE at a Call of Duty XP fan event. "So I think zip lining here, piece of cake."

2. She's a video game character.

Keibler's likeness appears in two games in the WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw series for PlayStation. "I was definitely a better wrestler in the video game than I ever was in real life," she admits. "So it was better to watch myself wrestle in the video game."

3. She goes by many names.

During her stint on Dancing with the Stars, judge Bruno Tonioli nicknamed her "The Weapon of Mass Seduction." In the wrestling world, she's also been known as Super Stacy, Miss Hancock, Nitro Girl Skye, The Legs of WCW, The Legs of WWE and The Duchess of Dudleyville. To her friends, she's just "Keibler." According to the former wrestler, her buddies have called her by her last name since high school.

4. She has team spirit.

The Baltimore native cheered for her hometown NFL team, The Ravens, for two years while she was in school. When Keibler won a $10,000 competition to join the WWE Nitro Girls, she used the money to buy season tickets. The former cheerleader is still a season ticket holder – and she plays Fantasy Football.

5. She's not afraid to get serious.

Keibler dated She's Out of My League and 7th Heaven star Geoff Stults for five years before they split in early 2010. The couple was a fixture on the Hollywood party scene, and Keibler even appeared alongside her then-boyfriend in the season finale of his short-lived TV series October Road.

Before Stults the wrestling star was reportedly with her high school boyfriend for seven years. She's also been romantically linked to WWE stars David Flair and Test. Both were let go by the WWE following their relationships with Keibler, prompting the actress to joke to WrestlingInc.com, "I'm like the kiss of death!"

Lady Gaga releases fashion film for "You And I"

Pop star Lady Gaga has teamed up with Dutch fashion photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin to produce five fashion-inspired vignettes for her latest single "You And I."

The first video, entitled "You And I: Nymph," was released on Thursday and featured the singer posing and pirouetting in a series of black-and-white clips shot by the famed fashion photographer duo.

The 2-minute 10-second video was the creative brainchild of Lady Gaga, who partnered with her stylist Nicola Formichetti to deliver a minimalistic performance dressed in a simple dress with neutral make-up, a far cry from her usual elaborate style as seen in her previous videos.
